Since the second half of the twentieth century, the traditional agricultural village experienced a process of industrialisation based on the ceramic industry. A process which not only entailed a change in the economic model, but also caused a veritable revolution in sociological aspects. This book is the result of a profound historical and geographical research, focused on the town of Figueroles (l'Alcalatén) between 1870 and 2010. The events that took place during the Second Republic, Civil War and Post War are of particular interest in the work. Those were years of extreme circumstances which can only be understood if they are looked from several points of view and, therefore, this is also a book of biographies, protagonists, and victims of a difficult time.
