We live in a world of constant change. The constant development of things “absorbs” us with alarming ease and the competitiveness of companies (and people) is leading us to not pay attention to what really matters. Therefore, in recent years, research on social relationships in the occupational and educational contexts have revealed that emotional competences, and more particularly emotional intelligence, play a key role in improving occupational health and productivity. On this basis, the two international conferences dealing with evaluation and intervention in emotional intelligence have represented a space to share experiences applied from two areas that are essential in the development of a society: education and business. Hence, the studies compiled here deal with information from an experience based on science, but with a wholly applied orientation that will serve to lay the foundations of the society of the future. That society will undoubtedly have an obvious technological component, but also an emotional development that, through experiences resembling those of the previously mentioned conferences, needs to live up to the expectations and needs of our society. | |
